The Kansas City Underground Film Festival Starts Today! (And We Designed Posters For Them)

The Inaugural KC Underground Film Festival begins tonight, March 12th, at the Westport Coffeehouse Theater! The festival will run on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays until March 22nd. KCUFF will feature 78 films from 29 different countries. With all that diversity, it would have been easy to forget about our local filmmakers, but thankfully the festival’s organizers have managed to include 17 films from local creators and have also put them in their own competition.

KCUFF will have films from many genres and of varying lengths. From the 2 minute animated short Werewolf in a Gucci Sweater to the 107 minute drama That Is All, there’s a lot to choose from! Other genres include action, sci-fi, horror, comedy, romance, thriller, and documentary.

KC Underground Film Festival began when the Tivoli in Westport ended. Worried about the future of film in KC, a trio of friends stepped up and co-founded KCUFF to bring underseen and underappreciated independent films to our city. KC cinephiles have KCUFF to thank for their hard work and service to the art of film.

Be sure to RSVP and get over to Westport for the six days of the festival! Check out the link for more information and for a schedule.

Check out the posters we created below, too if you have the chance.
